John has extensive experience in real estate marketing, sales, and development.
After a brief stint on pro tennis circuits in Europe and the U.S., John began his
business career in real estate with Killearn Properties, Inc.  From 1987 to 1991 he was involved in two of the largest real estate development projects in North Central Florida.  Killearn Estates and Killearn Plantation  were two separate, four-thousand acre, mixed-used developments that featured hundreds of residential single family homes, multi-family units, and various commercial real estate products, including retail, office, and light industrial.  As a licensed real estate broker and developer, John was involved in many aspects of marketing, sales, leasing, and operations of residential and commercial projects.  He developed a variety of properties including single-family acreage, zero-lot-line, lakefront and golf course home sites.  During this time, John also established and managed a separate team of sales and operations professionals with full P&L responsibility.

Other accomplishments and experience
within the real estate industry include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Worked closely with contractors and engineering resources in preparing community phased development plans;
  • Monitored and managed the local governmental approval, permit, and inspection process;
  • Developed project budgets and estimates to completion of final plat and infrastructure requirements for residential and commercial developments.
  • Developed, sold, and/or retrofitted over $250M in commercial, residential, and industrial real estate/operational assets over his career;
  • Managed commercial and residential mixed-use development projects from inception to final use.
  • Assigned and managed contract professionals including architects, estimators, designers, engineering and sales staff;
  • Interacted with a select group of individual and corporate clients (residential projects, commercial leases and sales), local and state officials and inspectors, attorneys, contractors, utilities, financial institutions and real estate brokers for the planning, development, financing, and marketing of large scale investments;
Over the past five years he has operated Arciero Associates LLC, a strategic advisor and service provider to business and industry. In his capacity as an advisor to real estate and financial industry clients, John provides a variety of applied strategies and tactical expertise across a number of business functions to enhance performance and profitability.  His local clients have included: RealEstate.com (a division of LendingTree) where he led strategic business development for the real estate broker network of 500 national and independent Realtors; Bank of America, as an eCommerce information technology consultant. Currently, he is retained by a select group of clients including an "organic agriculture" start-up based in Charlotte..
